About Laurie White

Laurie has written forever, started blogging in 2005, and has worked as a writer, editor and online community manager ever since.

An original contributing editor and Voice of the Year at BlogHer and BlogHer Food, and a longtime Community and Communications Director for Mom2.0, her publishing credits include BlogHer, TueNight, Huffington Post, American Journalism Review, and the BlogHer ebook Roots: Where Food Comes From and Where it Takes Us. 

Laurie's specialties include expert-level writing and editing, editorial and online communications strategy and execution, digital and mobile photography, social media and online community management, and event production, communications, and content strategy.   

Laurie also has an extensive background in adult education and counseling in nonprofit organizations, and in higher education as a community college counselor, English professor, and academic communications manager and speechwriter. She has master's degrees in counseling from the University of Dayton and Multimedia Journalism from the University of Maryland. (Go Flyers! Go Terps!)
